The Dining Room,
with its airy cathedral ceiling, clean lines, and volumes of light,
is an inviting place to gather. Separated from the kitchen by
a pair of interior sashes that slide open to encourage conversation
between the rooms, the dining area with its tall windows facing
south and west is a relaxing place to end the day over good wine
and food.

| The magnificent
custom kitchen
features Shaker-style natural cherry cabinets, a black slate
counter, tiger maple island, and a Dynasty commercial cook-top.
Designed to the specifications of a demanding cook (double
ovens, plenty of workspace on the countertops), this gorgeous
space makes it a pleasure to prepare food. Three windows look
out on cottage gardens and hills to the south. Like the kitchen
and dining room, the adjoining sitting room is part of an
open and relaxed floor plan that distinguishes this complementary,
architect-designed addition to the original house. The kitchen
wing, like the rest of the first floor, features a state of
the art Staedler radiant heating system to deliver a comforting,
even warmth that rises from the solid maple floors. |
